Fr. John Schroedel

Fr. John Schroedel is a priest of the Orthodox Church in America and is the director of the Orthodox Natural Family Planning Association. He serves at Christ the Savior Church in Chicago, Illinois. He received his training at St. Vladimir's Seminary and is currently working on a doctorate in Religious Ethics at the University of Chicago's Divinity School. His research is focused on questions of theological anthropology and human biotechnology.

Dr. Paul Vitz

Dr. Paul Vitz is a professor of psychology at New York University and Adjunct Professor at the John Paul II Institute for Marriage and Family, Washington, D.C. He is a member of the Fellowship of Catholic Scholars and is in active contact with many Evangelical Protestants and several seriously committed Jews.

His work focuses on the relationship between psychology and Christianity. Dr. Vitz is presently working on the topics of a Christian theory of personality and the psychology of hatred and forgiveness. He is also doing work on moral development and on character/virtue education with school-aged young people, and he has written on the topic of fatherhood and the family. Besides his interest in how things religious relate to psychology, he is also involved in the general topic of psychology and art.

Some of the books by Dr. Vitz are Psychology as Religion: The Cult of Self-Worship (2nd ed., Eerdmans, 1994, original ed., 1977); Defending the Family: A Sourcebook (1998); and Faith of the Fatherless: The Psychology of Atheism (Spence, 1999). Additionally, he has published over 100 articles and essays.

Professor Vitz lives in Manhattan (Greenwich Village) with his wife Evelyn, who is a Professor of French at NYU, and their six children.

Katrina Zeno

Specializing in the "theology of the body," the single life, the genius of woman and passing on the faith, Katrina Zeno brings a dynamic and personal dimension to her speaking. Katrina earned her BA in theology from Franciscan University of Steubenville. As a single mother, she has acquired a wealth of experience and knowledge across life's journey from marriage to single life to raising children to romance.

Katrina is a well-published freelance writer and her articles can be found in Our Sunday Visitor, CRISIS magazine, Catholic Faith and Family, Pentecost Today, and Franciscan Way, and on-line at Christianity.com. She has spoken in the US, Canada, England, and Trinidad at parishes, retreat centers, and national conferences and is co-foundress of Women of the Third Millenium. Glenn Stanton

Glenn Stanton is the Director for the Global Insight for Cultural and Family Renewal and a Senior Analyst on Marriage & Sexuality at Focus on the Family.

He is the author of Why Marriage Matters: Reasons to Believe in Marriage in Postmodern Society, which examines the rich and diverse benefits that marriage brings to adults, children, and society. He is also the author of My Crazy, Imperfect Christian Family (NavPress, 2004), an exploration of the value of imperfect families. His most recent book (with Dr. Bill Maier) is Marriage on Trial (InterVarsity Press, 2004) which addresses reasons why same-sex marriage and parenting are not good ideas.

He is a contributor to many other books, including Same-Sex Marriage: The Moral and Legal Debate (Prometheus Books, 2004). Glenn has published articles in Christianity Today, The American Enterprise, The World & I, Boundless.org, Family Policy, Current Thoughts and Trends, National Forum and Dr. Laura’s Perspective. He has had cover stories in both Citizen and Focus on the Family magazine.

He earned a master’s degree in interdisciplinary humanities from the University of West Florida. He lives in Colorado Springs with his wife and their five young children.

Fr. Thomas Loya, STB, MA

Fr. Thomas J. Loya is currently the pastor of Annunciation of the Mother of God Byzantine Catholic Church in Chicago, IL and the Eastern Catholic spiritual advisor for TOBIA. Before entering the seminary he earned a degree and pursued a career in commercial art and design, after which he worked for a Church design firm. He completed his studies for the priesthood in Pennsylvania and Rome and was ordained in 1982. In 1993 he added to his Bachelor of Fine Arts by earning a Masters in Counseling and Human Services. He has worked on the iconography both of his present parish and of St. John's parish in Solon, Ohio. In addition to his duties as a pastor and iconographer, Fr. Loya has served the Church in youth and young adult ministry and as an artist and design consultant. Kimberly Schmidt, DC

Dr. Kimberly Schmidt was born and raised in New York. She received her Bachelors of Science degree at Binghamton University where she studied biology and psychology. She graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic summa Cum Laude in 1993. She currently practices in Ft. Collins, CO, where she lives with her husband and five children. She and her husband are NFP teachers in the Archdiocese of Denver and have also held classes on Catholic apologetics. She will address the National Forum on the Theology of the Body on how the visible (the body) reveals the invisible.

Steven Bozza

Steven Bozza, MA is the Director of the Family Life Office for the Diocese of Camden New Jersey. He is an Adjunct Professor of Theology at Immaculata University, specializing in issues of marriage and sexuality, and also an Adjunct Professor of Biomedical Ethics at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center School of Nursing. He holds a Master of Arts degree in Moral Theology from St. Charles Seminary and is the author of several books including Begotten Not Made: a Guide for the Pastoral Care of Couples Experiencing Infertility and Christian Married Life, a marriage preparation program.
